The mushroom shape was born from considerations for handling:
The original idea was to envision an almost floating shade that sits loosely on a clear glass base and emits light downward without glare.
For safe handling, the base needed an intuitive grip area, with the glass body acting as a weight to keep the lamp vertical and prevent the shade from slipping when moved. For easier use was desired to fix the lampshade, which was solved at my suggestion with a magnetic connection.
